Tell us about the last year with TextMine?

‍

“I've been working at TextMine almost since the beginning. It’s amazing how the company has evolved over the last year! New designs, new functionalities and re-defined goals have made TextMine grow exponentially this year, in every way.

‍

As the company and the product improves, so does my experience and knowledge, which I couldn't be happier about.”

‍

What does a typical day at TextMine look like for you?

‍

"I love routine, and although it's a bit difficult to maintain one in a startup where every day is different, we always start the morning as a team by having breakfast together.

I try to prioritise the most complicated tasks in the morning, and after our daily stand-up meeting, I work on bug fixes and tasks.

At the end of the day, I usually take time to review the team's pull requests and check the status of all the tasks in the sprint."

What do you like most about working at TextMine?

"Probably the opportunity to  learn new things almost every day and to develop functionalities from the moment they're just an idea, until they're deployed in production and receiving feedback from customers.

‍

Also the "good vibes" in the team (especially in Seville haha) and how much Charles cares that we are always well, it's a luxury.”

Who inspires you?

"I don't think there is just one person who inspires me. I try to draw inspiration from everyone around me, whether it's my family, partner, or work colleagues. Each of them inspires me with their strengths."

What's one piece of  software that you find essential in your role, and you use on a daily basis?

‍

"Well, I would say there are three tools that help make my day much more efficient. Firstly, WebStorm is my favourite integrated development environment, making it much easier to develop and merge tasks. Secondly, Git (with GitHub Desktop) saves me a lot of time when it comes to controlling code versions and maintaining quality. Lastly, Jira stands out for organising tasks and sprints, as well as providing an overview of the team's status."

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

‍

"During the week, I like to relax by watching a series (special mention to 'Criminal Minds' and 'Grey's Anatomy'), I enjoy reading books (I love reading), particularly crime and fantasy novels, and I also practice sports with my partner, currently boxing.

‍

Weekends are for the two things I enjoy the most: spending time with my family and going out to eat. Always accompanied by beer when the weather is good, which is mostly all the time!"
