Tell us about the last year with TextMine?

“It has been an incredible year personally and professionally. It has also been a bit intense; the technology team has grown, and we have connected with our colleagues in the UK. Many things have changed, but what has not changed is the motivation to move the product forward and make it as good as possible.

Another key aspect has undoubtedly been the artificial intelligence that has helped us to unlock more potential in the product.

The unity within the team is indeed a key aspect for everything to proceed as expected. It’s the first year with re-brand, and I hope there will be many more to come."

What does a typical day at TextMine look like for you?

“My day begins with breakfast and a coffee which gives my body the extra strength it needs in the morning. I then make a start on tasks assigned to me on the team board.

During our daily stand-up meeting, I inform colleagues of the progress made and what is expected for the day.

I spend my days balancing team meetings,  addressing tickets and strategising for the next day.”

What do you like most about working at TextMine?

“The most important aspect for me at TextMine is the attractiveness of the product! But, equally my colleagues are up there too. Things are so much easier when working with a great team, it makes coming to work more enjoyable and everything works better.”

Who inspires you?

“With the team based in Spain and the UK. I certainly have to remember our team in Spain who work side by side every day and Charles, 'improving by 1 per cent, you will get a significant increase when you put it all together' - James Clear.”

What's one piece of software that you find essential in your role, and you use on a daily basis?

“For me Angular is essential, the fact of 'creating' something and seeing it reflected on the web and people using it is something rewarding! Now with the migration to AWS I do have that motivation to understand and know more about how to manage and make the product more effective.”

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

“My free time is like going to work, I have my routine of at least 1 hour of sport every day. Saturdays and Sundays are no excuse! I always think about the person I aspire to be as I grow older, and although you can never predict the future, it's always a good way to go.

I am now taking up reading, being with my friends and enjoying football on the weekends is something fundamental to me.”
